facility, as the two newest affiliates of the Cleveland, Ohio-based health system. The Cleveland Clinic started its national affiliate program in 2003 and has agreements with six other facilities around the country.

?We want to arrive at the point of being the very best we can possibly be,? said Paul Wiles, president and CEO of Novant Health. ?We?d like to learn from the best.?

Novant will pay a fee as part of the affiliation agreement, but Wiles declined to provide the details of the agreement or its length.

The Winston-Salem hospital?s heart program will now carry the name ?Forsyth Cardiac and Vascular Center in affiliation with Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute.?

?When you?re associated and affiliated with the best in the world, I will speculate that there is a marketing benefit to that for sure,? Wiles said.

For the 17th straight year, The Cleveland Clinic?s heart program was ranked No. 1 by U.S. News World Report.
