'Justice for Jessica' partners with local credit union

KUSA - Jessica Ridgeway's family remember her as "the light of their lives" and to ensure that this legacy lives on, a local credit union has stepped to contribute to a fund set up in her memory.

The Community Financial Credit Union (CFCU) at 6850 W. 119th Avenue in Broomfield is working together with the Jessica's family.

CFCU will be donating $10,000 to the Jessica Ridgeway Legacy Fund. This fund was raised through CFCU's members and its "Pay it Forward Program".

CFCU partnered its mission of "People Helping People" with the Ridgway Legacy Fund allowing its members to donate all or a portion of their Annual Members Bonus to the Ridgeway Fund.

The Ridgeway family, CFCU members for more than 20 years, originally opened the account during the search for Jessica, because the community wanted to donate towards search efforts. The Ridgeway's worked with CFCU to allow the money to go towards community programs for youth initiatives including camps and scholarships for children in Jessica's community.

Jessica was 10-year-old when she disappeared on Friday, Oct. 5. Her body was found on Oct. 10 in Pattridge Open Space Park in Arvada. Austin Sigg, 17, was arrested on Oct. 23. in connection to her death.
