Finance experts in Valley to provide free guidance

Credit and mortgage pressures. Volatile stock prices. Year-end tax planning. Lengthy to-do lists involving retirement, college or estate planning.

If these are some of the money topics that keep you up at night, get some financial guidance tonight through a free program sponsored by The Arizona Republic.

Roughly a dozen certified financial planners, certified public accountants and representatives from the Phoenix office of the Internal Revenue Service will be on hand to answer questions over the phone or Internet.

Tonight?s participants will include the following metro Phoenix financial professionals:

Michael Black, of Michael Phillips Black Wealth Management in Scottsdale, graduated from the University of Arizona, where he majored in accounting and finance, and from the Investment Training Institute. He earned the CFP designation.

Kimberly Bridges is manager of financial planning at Stoker Ostler Wealth Advisors in Scottsdale. She holds a doctorate in personal financial planning and the CFP designation.

Bill Brunson is the spokesperson for the IRS in Phoenix. He handles media relations and public affairs for Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Bill has been with the IRS since 1986. He earned a bachelor?s degree in business administration from Arziona State University.

John J. Chichester Jr. is a registered representative and an investment-adviser representative at Chichester Financial Group LLC, a fee-based wealth-management firm in Phoenix.

David Daughtrey is a founding principal at Copperwynd Financial in Scottsdale. He earned both the CFP and chartered financial analyst designations. He spent nine years as an investment banker with JPMorgan Chase and Merrill Lynch. He has an MBA from Brigham Young University.

Gary Deardorff of Phoenix Financial Group in Glendale is a CFP professional with more than 35 years in the financial industry. He has earned other designations, including certified estate planner, registered financial consultant and master of estate preservation.

Kimberly Lovell is manager of the small-business/self-employed division of the IRS in Phoenix and earned the CPA designation. She has been with the IRS since 1987 and previously served as an Internal Revenue agent, as a field-group manager and in other capacities. Lovell is a graduate of the University of Florida and Jacksonville University.

Fola Odejimi of the Odyssey Group in Phoenix is an engineer by training who holds the designations of CFP, chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant.

Armando Roman is managing principal of Axiom Financial Advisory Group, an independent wealth-management firm. He earned the CPA and personal financial specialist designations, as well as a degree in finance and accounting from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Drexel University.

Greg Stark of Jackson Financial Advisors in Scottsdale is a senior adviser with his firm. He graduated from Wartburg College in Iowa, obtained his MBA from the University of Phoenix and earned the CFP designation.

Sally Taylor is director of financial planning and a senior planner at KeatsConnelly. She holds the CPA, PFS and CFP designations and has a master?s degree in financial planning.
